The struggle is real, Or....Should I stay or should I go?

Around this time of year, every year, there is an epic struggle.  The struggle is real.  When you've grown up like I did, there are just certain things you DO this time of year.  However, the past few years, as I've grown older and developed powerful muscles that let me sit enjoy relaxation for hours on end (hahaha...see what I did there?) , I find myself wondering if I should stay true to my heritage or break free.  Should I expose myself to ticks and bugs and snakes and poison ivy and brambles and other natural wonders or should I get on with life on the wild side. lol

I really, really, I mean REALLY love these things, as does my mom and most of my family.  We just can't wait until we get a mess of them to enjoy.

Mother's birthday is tomorrow.  She and I have plans to enjoy the day, which do not include hunting for these.  The next day I leave for Paducah, Kentucky.  I won't be mushroom hunting there.  I'll be enjoying these:
Quilts.  Hundreds of beautiful, quilts from all over the world.  Every year during this week there is a National quilt show in Paducah.  Five friends and I will be headed there to be bewildered and mesmerized by all the beauty.  However, a part of my heart will be back here wishing I was traipsing through the woods searching for those elusive morels.  This is the week to find them.  Not last week.  Maybe next week (I hope), but this week they will be popping up like dandelions.  I've trained my son to search for them.  I promise to make him a nice quilt. :)  I'm off to Paducah!! Wheeeeeee!!!

Happy quilty mushroom blessings,
Brenda

I'm baaaack. Sort of.

I am tip-toeing my way back into blog land.  I forgot most of the technical stuff related to posting, so I feel like a kindergartner all over again.  I will attempt to re-learn it.  This old dog isn't
out of the race, yet.

From time to time, whenever I feel especially funny or cute or ambitious or whatever,
I will share these moments with you.  It's a good way to educate amuse your friends.  You should
try it.

This is short and sweet, I know.  Well, it's short anyway.

Like I said, I'm just trying to figure it all out again, so we'll see how it goes.  More later,
 maybe.

          Blessings,
          Brenda
